As a company grows, a business owner can often find it difficult to stay on top of daily and routine tasks which keep the business running.  Owners will need to be wearing multiple hats for the various different parts of the business – Sales, Marketing, HR, Operations etc.

That is where a virtual assistant can help, but what is one?

A virtual personal assistant is a person who often works remotely and offers administrative support for you and your business.

Working remotely allows them to be flexible to multiple clients and will also enable their work to fit in around their family.

They usually work an agreed number of hours for your business per day, week or month and are hired to undertake administration tasks.  These are tasks that would have been typically handled by an executive assistant.

There is not one particular size of business that a virtual personal assistant will work for and their clients are likely to come from a variety of industries too.

Some virtual assistants may have a specialism like bookkeeping or social media and digital marketing but most will tend to carry out a range of tasks.  This could include, but is not limited to scheduling diary appointments, making phone calls, arranging travel, research, data entry or organising emails.

The activities of a virtual personal assistant don’t have to be limited to that of their clients’ business and could include personal tasks like purchasing cards and gifts, booking medical and dental appointments, travel arrangements or family diary management.

The tasks that they undertake are often repetitive which are carried out regularly and need little or no supervision to be completed.

As a business owner, we all know that time is a very precious resource and sometimes having someone else take care of those simple and time consuming tasks allows you to have a reduced workload to be able to concentrate on working on the strategic needs and goals of your business.

If you recognise yourself as someone who is struggling to keep up with the constant admin and never-ending to-do-list, then please get in touch and we can discuss how I can help you to alleviate the pressure and give you some time back.
